The person I am concerned with is my girlfriend’s mother, she is leaning towards going down route of high calorie meal replacement shakes which I assume is bad because they will be high in sugar content. Believe sugar and carbs can be fuel for the cancer to feed on.
I am going to tell her exercise is important for improving appetite, she’s been told to leave work so isn’t doing much at the minute. any recommendation for diet? i think high protein and fats would be beneficial with lots of high antioxidant veggies and fruits. like a colour diet kind of thing? any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you!
Hi Lewis
Sorry to hear you and your family are going through this .
i was diagnosed with Stage 1V , spread to liver muscles etc in January . Very fit cyclist before that . I went through a stage I was struggling to eat . Everything I once liked made me feel puke . Anti sickness tabs did nothing but I did find taking FUEL protein drinks which helped greatly …it was input into my body . Don’t go wasting money on pre packed energy/full fat food if it’s not what you fancy but do try to get some veg and protein in the body .
I’ve had a blip with mets on my spine which is causing a great deal of pain with my mobility but just started Radiotherapy which should help. With the radiotherapy am on steroids ..boy can I eat
Wishing you all the best ..keep in touch x
Carol
