hi everyone I’m feeling very puzzled because I think my side effects have returned? Last year I had radiotherapy for lung cancer and after that treatment I got some side affects not straight away but I was very tired and used to have a sleep on a afternoon I had no energy but eventually they went. And I would say the last 2 weeks I’ve noticed I’ve got no energy, I’m falling asleep on an afternoon and I’m sure my side effects have returned do you think this is possible? Has anyone had this happen to them please? Take care love Yvonne
Hi, I had my last radiotherapy session for lung cancer on the 15 December....I am still in the sleeping/fatigue stage. I was told by my oncologist that some side effects do not surface until months, sometimes years later. To be honest, I had breast cancer over 30 year's ago and still have tender to touch ribs at the area where the radiotherapy beam went. Maybe have a chat with your nurse specialist or the radiologists regarding side effects. I was given a very informative leaflet on the subject before my radiotherapy started.
I go with the flow with my side effects, if I don't feel I have the energy to do anything I just relax and watch box sets or have an afternoon snooze. I am also still trying to get my appetite back, some foods I enjoyed before radiotherapy I can't stomach now, so I just eat what I fancy and when I feel like eating. I make sure I eat plenty of fruit and veg, also I eat yogurt daily for protein and calcium.
Best wishes, Ann
