Hi all.
I've just been diagnosed with lung cancer. Ironically, it was picked up at my 'oncology discharge' ct scan. I had endometrial cancer 5 years ago. I have a small nodule in the upper right lobe, about 3cm.
The first available appointment is 3 weeks away! And that is just to see a consultant. I know I will need a biopsy after that to determine if it's primary lung or secondary endometrial.
Is this time scale normal? And what can I expect moving forward?
Hi Gran W my cancer is also an endometrial cancer, which is now in my lungs, and like you I was very close to the 5 year all clear! You can read my story by clicking on my name and going to my profile page.
I think as things are with the hospitals at the moment, 3 weeks is probably normal, but I think you will find lots of other test appointments will be following very quickly. I know how much of a worry this is for you, and when you are worrying, please look at the positive which is they have called this a small nodule.
Please do come here and chat whenever you want, and remember the support line is available 7 days a week from 8am until 8pm if you need extra support. 0808 808 00 00
Thank you Chelle.
That's very positive to hear as well as somewhat daunting!!
As I already have polymyalgia rheumatica, I can't say I'm looking forward to any more aches and pains.
I'm a fighter though and this is just another battle. I'll get there.
I'll let you know how things progress.
Carol.
