Stage 4 confirmed on 30th December.
Dad has not been eating or drinking much since Thursday. Had two falls.
Some confusion and hallucinations more frequent.
All end of life plans and meds in place.
Waiting for OT to visit for aids.
Macmillan coming next Tuesday. Asked about hospice care but this only offered when facing final days. Was under impression people got this sooner.
Off work to care for him. Feel sick with worry and can't bare the thought of going back to work. But so torn I am in a senior manager position in care sector. Love my job but love Dad more..But feel like I am letting them down
Help really don't know what to do .
Hi Flicker I am so sorry you are going through this. When my mum was home for final weeks, before she went to the hospice, a Macmillan nurse came in once a day. Maybe this will be arranged when Macmillan visit on Tuesday.
I know how hard it is to be torn between responsibilities at work and caring for a loved one. Please try not to beat yourself up over this. Work will be there when you get back, and by caring for your dad you are not letting anyone down!

Hi Thanks it's all a bit of a blur. So much to take in. Got equipment coming Saturday so will see how his mobility is with that. Seem to think if he eats and drinks he will feel better.
DN coming 3 times a week.
Getting carers 3 times a day.
Feels very lonely.
Need to stay positive in this Dark moment x
