So the ct scan results which show a spot on liver did not get to this weeks mdtm meeting...scan was 3rd jan.. and this waiting time is something all of us find difficult ...and the written report wast enough and the consultant was the lung man not liver specialist so maybe next week we have been told...coping mechanisms from those who are in similar situations that can share would be great as ths seems to be taking its toll now ...if it can be treated surely it should be started asap
Hi
I had a similar experience during the diagnosis process. CT scan showed an area of concern in the liver. However a subsequent ultra-sound scan identified the area as a clump of blood vessels. I had the impression that this 'concern' happens quite frequently as the liver is packed to the brim with blood vessels.
Although it is very frustrating, it is extremely important that all areas of concern are fully explored in order for the correct treatment plan to be developed.
Hope this helps a bit.

Hi kegsy
what stage were you at my small cell lung cancer is in one lung my chest and 3 limph nodes the consultant said she hadn’t ruled out cure then said take a month at a time and a have a 50 plus chance of a year , did you get immunotherapy treatment after chemo and radiotherapy xxx am so confused
Hi hil13, at the start of my journey ct scan showed lesions in my liver, pet scan showed this to be nothing of concern. It did however show spread to lymph nodes. Try and stay positive (easier said than done, I know). These people are experts and need to explore every nook, cranny and possibility to ensure they have a treatment plan designed especially for their patient. Take care and stay strong. Xx
Hi olive 53, I have nsclc in one lung, spread to lymph nodes and as things stand at the moment, I am due for 2 x 3 weeks chemo, then move to another hospital for another 2 x 3 weeks chemo with targeted radiotherapy every day, this with intent to cure. After this oncologist has said immunotherapy for a year. Fingers crossed. Unfortunately something else has showed in pelvic area that is suspicious so plans may change. Will find out Monday, yesterday I was angry and yapping, today I'm back on form and full of positivity! Take care and stay strong xx
Brilliant a felt the same angry then teary yesterday positive looking myself for immunotherapy drugs
thank you we can all support each other and beat this with all the new meds coming out xxx
Hi he has been told it is a cancer spread from lung in his liver...it took 2 weeks for this after the PET scan...in the mdt mtg it was decided that more SABR radiotherapy might help shrink this and we are currently in wait mode again to hear if this is possible...if not then it will be chemo..which at present he is not at all keen on..
Its so good to have this forum to discuss and share.. thankyou to you all and hope to have more positive news soon.
