Hi how much water are you supposed to drink during chemo daily?
Hi
The official thought on this is
Dehydration can occur rapidly and can cause serious long term damage to the body and organs and should be avoided at all cost. If the average healthy person needs 8 glasses of water a day, a chemotherapy patient should drink at least 10-12 glasses just to be on the safe side.
But it should be remembered that plain water will only replace lost fluids it will not replace any salt lost from your body a simple solution is to have a packet of salty crisps each day
If you happen to be in a part of the UK that the weather people are promising temperatures in the mid 30"s you may need extra fluid intake, everything you drink, except alcohol, counts towards your fluid intake.
