My husband had his last week after an xray and ct scan showed a shadow on his lung...struggling with the wait for the results...which may or may not be cancer according to his consultant...coping mechanisms at this early stage would be appreciated!
Hi Hils13,
I'm sorry to hear that your husband is in the diagnosis stage as the waiting for results is a constant worry for all. These results are very important as they thoroughly test the samples they have taken and that will determine diagnosis and treatment.
We all try to focus on one day at a time and try to have as normal a life as we can. Keeping busy helps and being positive about the fantastic treatments out there and you will soon be around to results day.
I know we all think the worst and I can't stop you worrying but whatever the result the journey has started and treatment is the next step.
Wishing you all the best

Well i think its good news..the bronchoscopy biopsy was negative...but the doctors have decided to send him for a PET scan incase....has anyone else has this happen...we want to celebrate this negative result.but now another investigation looms!
Hi Hils13,
Whatever samples they took are negative for càncer and that is good news. A PET scan is expensive and will light up any problems so they are being thorough. Not out of the woods yet but on the road.
Wishing you all the best
