Hi Tillyboo this is the most stressful time for you both. I wish there was something I could say that will make today easier for you. Can I suggest you take a pen and oater with you, because when you are there your mind goes blank, and after the meeting you will questioning what was said.
Wishing you both all the very best for today. I know how scared you both are, but these are the answers you need.
Thank you. No idea what to ask, what should be asked.

Hospital just called to say he needs a blood test before his appointment. Any else had this?
Hi Tillyboo blood tests are pretty routine. The questions you may want ask will really depend on what the diagnoses is. If there is a treatment plan, you may want to ask about side effects, how long the treatment will last. The one thing I would ask for is a contact number for the lung nurse, they are usually really good with this, but make sure you have that before you leave. The lung nurse will be your go between with the oncologist, and you can phone her with any worries or questions you may have. The nurses are a godsend.
Thanks. I've had the lung nurse contact since all this started.
Thanks for reply
Ok. This is for biopsy results from last week. Just out the blue this morn they rung & said his appointments been changed from 5.15pm to 4pm & he needs a blood test. No explanation, all the time its the worst case scenario going through your head.
Thanks for reply
Devastated tonight. Lung cancer as spread some cells to brain & lower spine. Chemo starts in about 10 days no mention of radiotherapy. He had blood taken regarding Ctdna treatment. But this is death sentence. Doctor didnt seemed to optimistic about, mite be lucky to get one or 2 holidays!
The only positive thing doc said was how well my husband is considering how serious the prognosis is.
No hope....
Tillyboo I am so sorry to hear this, I know how devastating this news is for you both. I know you will be feeling like it’s hopeless at the moment, but there have been people who have lived much longer than they were first told.
I think it may be a good idea to call the MacMillan support line tomorrow, they open at 8am. The number is 0808 808 00 00. They will be able to support you through this.
