Hello good people i need some advise
Im male 38 years ,social smoker
I need some advise if anybody can help
Recently and now ,i had some kind of flu, painfull throat, runny nose and cough,
I had severe cough with pleghm ,yellow and thick and very dense,
My doc put me on antibiotics and i feel much better but still cough and producing pleghm but much less.
One time when i violently coughed i see red blood dot, like grain of sand size,
That dot was separated from pleghm but i coughed it.
I went to the doctor again and had chest X ray,
Xray shows bronchitis and nothing more, doc said to home and rest and not to worry, she says it is probably from throat or broken capilar somewhere from cough.
So what can i do now,to ask for CT or something else?
Can red blood dot be from bronchitis and coughing hard?
I feel now better and almost no symptoms ,just little cough,no fever.
Thanks in advance..
Hi Drake any amount of coughing can cause a blood vessel to burst, the same way that blowing your nose continuously hard can cause a nose bleed.
Listen to your doctor, you have a clear X-ray so no need for a ct.
My case isn’t the same I had a cough which turned into chest infection my GP gave me antibiotics the cough chest infection didn’t go so I went back to doctors again I was given antibiotics it didn’t go so I went back to see my GP . He gave me a 3rd prescription for antibiotics and sent me for a chest X-ray 3 days later I received a phone call to arrange a CT scan as something was showing up on the xray , I had the CT scan and then got a appointment to see a cancer specialist. At no time did I cough blood as far as I’m aware but I was coughing up phlegm.I was diagnosed with a small cancer on my left lung
Thank you chellesimo,
I hope you right,i never cough violently like this, but cough subsides slightly..
More interesting things,my OCD telling me to cough more and more and spit out to check for blood, nothing ,no sign of blood, just once as i describred..
Hi Dito,
Im so sorry for your diagnosis, but luckily you caught it early.
How are you now,are you healed, are you still cough? Hope this is behind you.
I asked radiologhist can Chest xray caught cancer, she said sometimes, but if x ray show some shadows or anyting suspicios ,she then advise ct scan.
Later ,when i talked with pulmologhist and disscus about x ray results,i asked for Ct ,she refuses. I dont know why,she said ,this is engouh, you are ok and go home.she looked to me highly skilled and pretty sure.
Im affraid what if they are missed something..
My cough improved a lot ,but i was told long time ago and read online, blood in pleghm is urgent.
