i was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer almost five years ago.  I had two years of immunotherapy without many side effects and then had over two years without treatment.  I had to start a course of 20 sessions of radiotherapy last October an d finished end of November.  I still feel nausea and lack of appetite.  Is this normal?

  • Radiotherapy continues working for months after treatment has finished.  Unfortunately, that means side effects can continue for quite a while, too.

Contact your treatment team and let them know you need meds for the continuing side effects.

  • Thanks Lolie.  It reassured me and will be Seeing the oncologist in a weeks time.

  • Hi I finished 6 weeks worth chemo radiation in December , I’m still feel fatigued , and lack of appetite too … it is still working for some time and so you expect side effects for awhile too but chat to your team about it . Elly x

  • Thanks EllyB. I needed some reassurance. When I had my follow up with the radiologist end of December he said I shouldn’t be getting nausea and lack of appetite at this stage. I suppose everyone is different and I will ask for more help. Good luck and hope you feel better soon. X
