Told today it's None Small cell a combination of Squamous & Adenocarcinoma in two lobes & spread to one Lymph gland.
Up until now they have said that an operation is not feasible, but now they think it may be & they have arranged for me to see a surgeon next week.
Your comments would help me
Thanks
Hi Johnoo, so the waiting begins again to find out whether you will have an op or not. What a rollercoaster ride this cancer journey is. If it is operable that will be very good news. It is good it is contained in the lung, and the fact that it has spread to only one lymph node is also good. There are lots of treatments for non small cell lung cancer.
Good luck seeing the surgeon next week. Please let us know how you get on.
Control Freak/Anybody else,
Good question about how they would operate, i assume remove whole lung.
But also concerning is that up to now they have said it's size was 7Cm, it was a surprise when they said it's in 2 lobes.
Hi Johnoo,
Is your cancer in the left or right lung? The right lung has three lobes, the left has two.
I had surgery for lung cancer last year. They removed the upper lobe in my right lung, and a section of the middle lobe, plus a couple of lymph nodes.
Exercise is very important, as you’ll need to activate your healthy lung as much as possible.
If it’s not automatically offered, ask to have pulmonary rehabilitation after your surgery. It will help a lot.
Good luck.
