Hello,
I had bowl cancer surgery in Nov 2022. Just heard its spread to my liver.
I'm waiting to hear whether they will be able to cut out the diseased part out. Should hear next week (22 Jan 25).
I've already done loads of research and maybe my only option will be a liver transplant, unless it can be cut out.
Without me saying anything, my son has already offered to be a live lver donar (brings me to tears to write this, what a son).
I'm luckily enough to be able to pay for this privately.
According to my research, the chances of me making it to the end of 2025 looks dim, but hopefully the NHS will have something good to say next week.
There's mounting information saying Sugar is a major cause of cancer, so I'm currently embarking on a keto diet, trying to consume less than 20 g of carbs a day.
I just checked and I actually am averaging 22.5 grams.
I haven't read anyone elses story yet, but please reply if you have anything to say
Hi SteveJ and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi SteveJ
I’d recommend putting your post in the bowel cancer group, where I see you’re already a member. There are lots of discussions there about spread to the liver and it’s a subject that comes up frequently, so you may find it helpful to reach out in that group in addition to this one to widen your audience.
Sarah xx
