Hi. My Dad (early 80s) has secondary liver cancer (primary was colon). He had the primary tumour surgically removed in January 2020. There was spread to one lymph node. He chose not to have any further treatment. Small liver mets were found around 6 months later. He is just now beginning to experience symptoms - pain, feeling full, nausea, fatigue. And mentally he is not doing well - very gloomy and anxious (although he won’t admit to that). At the moment his pain is controlled by just paracetamol, but he has oral morphine for if it increases. I know we’ve been lucky to have him for this long, but it’s still hard to accept that we’re moving to the next stage…So I’m here just looking for a bit of support and to share experiences.
Hi afro76 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your dad is beginning to experience symptoms from his cancer, it must be a very difficult time for the whole family.
You may also like to post in the supporting someone with incurable cancer group, which I can see you've joined, as you'll then connect with others who have a loved one at a similar stage to your dad.
Sending virtual (((hugs)))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
