Hi
Back in November 2020 I was diagnosed with secondary liver cancer after having a partial cancerous blockage removed from my bowel. No stoma was required. I started chemo in January 2022 initially on panitumumab but after a severe skin reaction was takeoff and continued only on a normal Chemo treatment plan.
Unfortunately on Feb 28th after being admitted to hospital the day before with a suspected blood clot, I suffered a massive PE which resulted in myself going into a cardiac arrest with a prolonged resuscitation of 38 minutes thanks due to the fantastic work of the medical team.
After a period of rest and follow up checks no adverse effects have been identified from the Cardiac Arrest (CA) and I am back on the Chemo. Part of the tests was a CT scan immediately after the CA should a reduction in the size of the lesions on the liver. A CT scan done before restarting the Chemo showed the lesions as in-measurable . I have now completed my four session treatment plan and have a CT scan scheduled for the end of the month
which brings me eventually to my question: if the latest CT scan at the end of the month also shows as in-measurable does this mean it has gone into remission.
I will be asking my Oncologist at the consultation afterwards but just wanted some views.
thank you for taking the time to read my rather long first message.
David
Hi David and a very warm welcome to the online community
I don't know the answer to your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. You could also post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 3 working days.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it will mean that you have gone into remission
