Hello all,
So tomorrow, my MDT are meeting with Liver specialists from Leicester to decide what they are going to tackle first.
I’ve had a CT, PET scan and Colonscopy with biopsy all done and they said form this they’ll decide.
My biggest worry is the size and places of my liver mets, one 9cm/8cm sections 5,6,7 and two mini mini ones 1 and 4a. I’ve worried more about these than the initial primary spot in the bowel, 3cm.
I really don’t know if the call will be positive, very concerned. I’m trying to remain positive as much as possible.
Just needed to reach out to others on this rocky journey. I received such support on my last post I knew I would receive some more on here.
Hi Lf77
I'm not a member of this group but thought I'd pop on and ask how the call after the MDT meeting go? I'm hoping that you now have a treatment plan in place. Most of us find that once we know what we're facing and how it's going to be tackled things feel a lot better.
Try not to beat yourself up if you're not feeling positive all of the time. When you're facing the anxiety and uncertainty around cancer it is impossible to remain upbeat all of the time. Unfortunately 'feeling positive' is one of these cancer myths that people fall into the trap of telling us that we must be to beat it when there's actually no proof that it has any affect on how well we respond to treatment. However, it does have a positive affect on how we feel
(((hugs)))
Hi thank you for your message.
They called and asked me to come in face to face with the consultant surgeon and nurse. I was so nervous. Husband was allowed with me.
They have said they are goi g for a ‘curative approach’ to which I still can’t believe and it won’t sink in.
I am having bowel surgery in the next few weeks, followed by chemo then further surgery to the liver. They said with this plan it should cure.
Like I said I really hope that’s the case but I don’t want to get carried away and then feel desperately disappointed if it doesn’t work.

Excellent news and good luck. My wife had breast cancer in 2009 then SBC in 2018. Spread to liver and spine but no problems with spine so far. She was told as its spread to liver surgery is out of the question. What area are you in as it's a postcode lottery, we're south Wales
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
