im new to the group, i have not been diagnosed with cancer but been back and forth to the doctors and have been seen by a doctor at the hospital yesterday who wants to send me for a scan on my liver asap to see if i have cancer but told me not to worry( easier said than done )
Anyone here with liver cancer? What was your symptoms?
Tia xx
Hi.
During the night I had an acute pain just under the right ribs, went to my GP next day, he thought it was appendix and sent me to hospital for an appointment at 10.00, by 4 pm I was told I have a 9cm lesion; this was November 2022. I am now receiving Immunotherapy every 3 week, I am stable I am told. Really happy with that.

Hi Tia,
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell and that your liver may potentially be the cause. As you ask, I can only speak on behalf of my Mother who has liver Cancer. So we have recently been dealing with Consultants and Doctors and so I can speak with some experience.
Symptoms are feeling lethargic and tired. Although I suspect that your condition could be for many reasons aside from Cancer. The liver controls so many elements of our system. It's got a bloody tough job!
Your GP and those around you will get close to the problem and assist you in more ways than you think may be available right now. Please trust in the system because I guarantee the best people are there and they certainly know what they are doing.
Happy to chat and hope your well.
Myles.
Hi I now know my symptoms that I thought were menopause were actually cancer. I had loose bowel movements for about a year which was a big change for me. Had a FIT sample sent off but came back clear about 10 months ago. Also kept getting hot flashes during day where I'd go brought red and have blotches all over body but it would go within 5 mins. Doc said that's a sign of liver issues.
Hi JoJo,
I can relate as liver Cancer and downstairs movements being loose appear to go hand in hand. Anything going on with your liver, especially if it were to be Cancer, have a big effect on many parts of your body. The bile ducts in your liver sort out and process what you're eating.
The processed products pass through your gall bladder and into your intestine. If the bile ducts aren't doing what they should then the fats in the food you eat aren't being properly processed. What is normally a hard movement become very loose hence what could be described as diahorrhea.
Your GP might have explained that further research is required to get to the cause of this and you may wish to insist upon a scan and further tests in order to identify the exact cause.
Liver Cancer is a big concern but can be treated and there are many great medical professionals out there who can assist.
Unfortunately my Mother has no procedures available for her liver cancer so we're on the bad side of it. Please remain positive as so much can be done if you get to it quick enough.
Thoughts and prayers,
Myles.
Thank you for that info, really appreciate it. It's very much a learning experience for me and I've been educated so much whilst in hospital. Best wishes to you and your mum.
Be strong JoJo. You've got this. I might imagine you have moments of doubt but please trust in the Doctors and Consultants. They'll attend to every need and question you may have. I can only comment on the men and wonen at Southanpton...They're simply the best. And I'm sure your Team are equally on your case with immeasurable attention to you xx
Hi Bev how are you?
I know that is something everyone with Cancer hates to hear. "How are you?"
Heck I've got Cancer and I feel bad so how am I expected to feel?!!
Bev, there are so many people feeling how you're feeling right now. Please find some comfort that others are thinking about you and your fight.
You are not alone and there are so many amazing people who will sort this for you.
From my experience, the Doctors and Consultants do their magic and then the wait occurs.
If it's good then ring the bell.
If not so good then take stock of where you are and just keep fighting. Your closest will kick your bum because they care about you so much! They will think C and the worst. But we know it's doable and treatable so kick your own but and help them to help you.
Myles.
