Worried about my mam

Hello everyone. I’m new here and just want a little advice. My mam has secondary breast cancer that has gone to her liver and a tiny particle in lung. Is anyone else going through a similar diagnosis. I think to give my mam hope if I could speak to anyone living with this may help her.
She knows it is incurable but is treatable at the moment and she has to have scans every three month. Her anxiety is to the point where she wants to stay in bed everyday she is so terrified it is breaking my heart. If I can give her hope and positivity in any way this would be very welcome. Thank you for reading x

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that your mam has recently discovered that her breast cancer has spread to her liver and lung and it's natural that you both want to speak to others in a similar circumstance.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups, so I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group as it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and speak to others in a similar situation to your mam.

To join just click on the link I've created and once you've joined you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mam's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
