Hi there this is my first post , just wondering how do people cope on their emotions it's early days yet home a wk after 11 wks in hospital, daughter and granddaughter both looking after me , I suppose I just needed other people's thoughts Thier feelings etc , my head quite mashed I'm looking at doing counselling with tenovus, but I'd love to sit with like minded folks and chat .
Does anyone feel like me
Hi Scattychic
Wow 11 weeks in hospital I tend to go mad after about 3 days and my wife something similar.
We do have quite a lot of information around emotions here We also have a tool on the main site in your area that given your postcode will identify support groups near you (sometimes can be worth using the hospital postcode too). We are lucky to have a Maggies near us and there we can just drop in whenever we feel the need.
How are your daughter and granddaughter? If it helps you might like to consider a needs assessment for you and a carers assessment for them because with good support in place things can be less difficult - see here for how to get this.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Thanking you for your response I think my thoughts and feelings on my diagnosis is the worst part, my daughter has accepted my cancer but sadly I'm finding it tough
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
