Hi, I'm Jim.
I had a liver resection in March 2017, and scans were clear till spring 2021, when I was told it was back with several mets.
Started oral chemo with Sorafenib but disease progressed, then Regorafenib (Stivarga) .
Currently on 18th monthly cycle, and so far, apart from side effects this seems to be working.
I'm not aware of how many others are in my quite fortunate position but would be happy to help if they are starting on a similar journey.
Jim21..... well I think that's my title!
Hi Jim and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm glad to read that your current treatment regime is working
It's very kind of you to offer help to people just beginning their journey with liver cancer and I've noticed that there are a few new people who have joined this group in the last few days whom I'm sure would be grateful to get a reply from you.
When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Jim21 - gives me so much hope for my Partner. He was diagnosed with HCC in September 2020 - he has had a liver resection, adrenal gland removed the following year and now on a very tiny dose of Sorafenib - he could only tolerate one treatment of Atezolizumab and Bevacizumab. So very much hoping that dose will work some magic. To read your story is truly inspirational. Take care.
Hi Jim21, thank you. I will definitely contact you again if I need help. Take care and I hope you continue to stay well.
All good wishes.
