Hi I’ve just joined because I would like to chat with other older people of my age on how they are coping and what they think about their future, lm 74 and was diagnosed 2 years ago, from what I’ve read on line leads me to believe that I will not see 80.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I can't help with experience of liver cancer but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

While you're waiting for replies you could have a look through some of the previous posts and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • What l am really looking for is to talk to a group of people with similar age and health problems, as I think my life expectancy is quiet short but no professional will commit, the best I’ve had is do l remember George best but I’ve already lived a lot longer than him. The last thing I want is to be a burden to my wife and son, at the moment I am still independent and have been happily married for 53 years. Do I follow the advice of professionals or follow my own instinct. Any other people of my age group thinking the same? Oap74

  • I'm sorry that you haven't had any replies from people of the same age and health issues as yourself yet.

You could have a look through the previous posts in the group and reply to anyone that you think might be similar to you.

Another thought is to change the title of your post to catch the attention of people with the age range that you want to talk to.
