so today I visited a specialist and was told that I have a tumour on my liver. They have told me to think positively and that it will be a simple procedure. Fears kick in though and I don’t know how to handle this.
I have told my partner, but I’m not sure how to even talk about it with anyone else.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
It's natural to be scared when you are first told that you have cancer. I don't suppose that there's anyone in any of the support groups here who wasn't but as your treatment progresses you should find it easier to come to terms with.
We're all different when it comes to telling people about our cancer diagnosis and you don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. Me, I found it helped to talk to my friends about it and you might find the support of your friends really helpful in making you feel less alone.
Can I recommend that you have a look at this information from Macmillan on taking about your diagnosis. It talks, amongst other things, about the benefits of talking to others and how to tell people that you have cancer.
