I had  what I thought was a routine gall bladder removal in Feb. It tiredness out to have stage 4 cancer in i. The cancer has spread to my liver and I am currently receiving palliative chemotherapy.
so far, after 2 sessions, part from the general fatigue, I feel ok.
still reeling a bit from the shock of it all because apart from a couple of gall bladder attacks, I sensed nothing was wrong.
the oncologist is hoping that she can shrink some of the cancer. I have no idea of  the likelihood of this happening is and wondered if anyone else might know?

she informs me there are other treatments which can take place but as yet. These have not been discussed. Has anyone been in my situation?

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I can't help with your questions as I had a different type of cancer but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I'm sure there will be other members of the group who are having palliative chemotherapy and replying to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

You could also post your questions in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to reply within 3 working days. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there if this is something that you'd like to do.

While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
