Hi all,
I'm new here. To give you a little back story.
2012 I had a lump appear on my left side.. after going tocthe gp multiple times to be told I had an umbilical hernia (completely wrong place!) I finally saw a specialist and within one week of an ultrasound I was booked in for a radical open nephrectomy. I had a spindle cell carcinoma. Luckily contained to the kidney even though the kidney was swollen with the tumour. I had it removed in 2016. Ive had basal cell carcinoma twice too. My consultant thought it likely I'm prone to rare cell mutations (was only 30 at the time) I was put on yearly CT scans.
Fast forward to around 6 months a possible hermangioma was picked up on a ct. It wasn't there the previous year, so given my gistory they sent me for an MRI 2 weeks ago. This has come back that the 'lesion' has grown slightly. I'm not on any oral contraceptives and haven't been for a long time. They said its possibly a fnh but have asked for further investigation.
I guess my question is, has anyone else's issues started in this way. It most likely seems to pathetic to everyone who actually has a diagnosis but I have 4 children and anxiety and upset has completely taken over at the possibility of it being something much worse.
I'd appreciate any help and advice, even if it's not good news.. I just want to feel more prepared before my outpatient appointment xxx
Hi Lucykjc and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've already had to deal with 2 different types of cancer and it must be very upsetting to be possibly looking at another type.
I don't have any experience with liver cancer but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet so responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the page again.
While you're waiting for replies it would be good if you could pop something about your diagnoses and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
