Hi All
After many tests my Daddy was diagnosed with cancer of the liver. He has a 1.5cm cancerous lump on his liver but as yet they aren’t sure if it is a primary or secondary one. My Dad previously refused 2 colonscopies. He knows now he has to have it so he can have an accurate diagnosis and has been red flagged.
my main concern is that although my Daddy is only 70 he suffers from heart failure, kidney failure, osteoarthritis, COPD and is a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic . He can only walk 10foot before he has to rest.
do you think chemotherapy or radiotherapy will be an option. His consultant has already ruled out surgery.
Any and all advice will be received with thanks. I’m trying to keep on a brave face but I’ve had a few wobbles today
Hi Shellyann
I'm sorry to read that your dad has been diagnosed with cancer of the liver and that you're now all in limbo while you wait to find out whether it's a primary or secondary.
Having not had this type of cancer I don't know if chemotherapy or radiotherapy is used as treatment but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be seen more easily.
You might also find this information on treating primary liver cancer and treating secondary liver cancer useful to have a look at.
