Hi.

I am 34 years old and just recently been diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer. They believe it has spread from my bowel to my liver I have a 5cm tumour in my bowel and 11cm and 3 cm and other secondaries on my liver. I’ve read almost all the threads on this forum and have very mixed emotions about it all.

the fact the sizes of my tumours on my liver will they say they can not do anything for me? When I got told by the consultant and I saw the Macmillan nurse she said I was young fit and healthy and would more than likely start chemo first to shrink the tumours? Now I’m thinking different after reading these threads.

I have two children finding it hard to cope, specially with the pain I’m experiencing which is going into my back, got offered tramadol and anti sickness tablets from GP but they make me feel worse and spaced out and want to carry on being a mum as best as I can.

I am waiting for consultant to call me to give me my prognosis and confirm what my treatment will be after speaking to MDT.

anyone else in the same situation, so scared that they will tell me they can’t help me I’m not ready to leave my family and my babies behind it’s not fair Disappointed

  • Hi

I'm not in the same situation as you but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post here, although you've had lots of replies to your posts in the bowel cancer group.

I hope you don't mind me mentioning that to connect with others whose cancer has spread to their liver you might like to join the secondary liver cancer group. If this is something that you'd like to do just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
