Hi I’ve just been diagnosed with liver cancer for the second time and I’ve already had 25% of my live cut away almost 2 years ago and there going to burn away away this tumour and am worried about it I was just wondering if any one else has has this done as I have only have my husband to talk to about it

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you have a recurrence of your liver cancer and it's understandable that you're worried.

I don't have the experience you're looking for but noticed that your post had gone unanswered. You could post your question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist nurses will try to get back to you within 2 working days. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to talk to someone I'd recommend calling the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 0000 when it reopens at 9am on Monday morning. It's free to call and staffed by specialist cancer nurses.

Wishing you all the best with your treatment

I had liver Cancer in 2015 had very large section taken away 11 tumours. Plus over that year another 10 tumours

Then another op another chunk of liver then whole year free. Then last dec it came back I had tace (target chemo.)

Doctor always told me in your liver it comes back may be 3 month 6 month maybe year but all the time they can treat it don't panic. Tace and the one they are talking to you about have good outcomes so keep positive.

My liver has so far been ok but managed to go in my Heart. Just had chemo and Radiotherapy scan Jan see what next.

    Hello Kate,

I have a 3.5cm primary liver cancer, I have been told it can be burnt away. I'm on a waiting list for the oblation and wondering if anyone has been told if that is a total cure?

    Hi Wendy,

The Tace I had in December reduced the cancer from 5cm. The Bristol Royal Hospital turned me down for the operation and because of my heart failure, cardio vascular and age. I'm on a waiting list for the keyhole operation, it should be in 2 or 3 weeks.

I trust your scan is clear, was your cancer a primary like mine?

    Regards, Tony

    Hi Tony

Yes it was primary, But since gone in to my heart sadly because my liver has been clear.

I had Tace in December 17 then in March 18 found tumour in my heart got so ill given 2 hours to live.

But then they discovered the tumour in my lung was there dec 2017 but missed on scan.

But I had tace in Dec after scan so mixed feeling would they have done the Tace if they knew Tumour was there.

Lucky they missed it because they might not done anything. Mind is all over the place.

3 half years ago my Tumour waa so large they were not going to operate then they did.

I have hole in heart which played up in both op's so I feel lucky to still be here.

Who knows what next scan next week Tired face

On chemo drug REGORAFENIB at present and just had

Radiotherapy to heart first patient in Portsmouth ever to have that to heart.

    Good luck stay in touch.

    Wendy

Let you know next week what next.
