Hi there, found out October last year had a mass on kidney, no symptoms. Went to hospital thinking I had an ovarian cyst. Dec kidney was removed and March found out was t3a chromophobe. They say its all gone so no treatment but this wait for my ct scan results is hellish. Overall iv handled things ok but lately I'm just worried that something else is going to appear. This worry is horrid
It's booked for 5th August, just scary, not knowing that was growing.was 7cm and just scared of chances coming back
That seems a long wait. I was sent the results after about 2 weeks. No harm done to politely check in with them..
I'm hoping because it's stayed that date all is good. Just worried cause they said they don't know too much about the chromophobe but they got it all. Took 3 months to get that result too. I'm a single mum to 4 and all I fo is plan my funeral in my head.
In my hospital they have a Mac team inhouse. When I ring them they get my scan results in a few days.
The waiting is horrid I know, but your nurse team at the hospital are there to have a chat with and ask any questions bugging you.. so do use them. They can often be very reassuring. Good luck on the 5th..let us know what they say.
Yes it’s very scary waiting but they seem to be stunned to that worry and will get back quick following the scan. I’ve previously been advised to tell the name nurse when you’ve had the scan and the can fast track the feedback to you. My health authority have a medical correspondence to an app last week I had a scan Monday had feedback Wednesday.
best of luck on the 5th
Hi Marie,
not spoken to anyone else who's had the Chromaphobe RCc. See my bio. I had my kidney removed last year. I was t2a . Same as you no treatment as they say it's gone with full removal . Waiting and worrying are awful but you sound like you're trying to be positive which is good! How old are you? I've my first CT scan soon, not had my kidney bloods checked since December, so hopefully my one remaining one is doing ok and I'm hoping nothing shows up on my scan. When is your scan due? X
