Hello, I am new to the group, and feeling anxious !

I have been told I have a 3cm lesion on my right kidney. This was found by accident after having a CT scan due to having tummy pain. I have been told it is very likely I have cancer. After having an MRI.

The results from this have been looked at , and I have been told by a specialist nurse that they want to remove this by having a partial nephrectomy.  Now waiting for an appointment to go and speak with the surgeon.

Very anxious, and fearful. Trying to get my head around all of this. My health is not great. And have other things going on such as obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, I also have gallstones. And problems with pain after urinating and going alot at night . No urine infection. I also was a smoker for many years, stopped that beginning of January this year. I fear I may have left things too late. But trying to remain positive. Feeling alone and worried for the future.

  • Hello, just  to reassure you that you are not alone. Many of us have been where you are right now and understand the shock of it all and how scary it is. Try to take things one day at a time and one step at a time. You will get through it. Others have health conditions like you and can still have the necessary operation and treatment if that is needed. You will have a team of experts looking after you so hopefully can feel a little reassured by that. They will make a plan for you and you will start to feel a bit more in control. Try to distract yourself from thinking the worst by doing nice things and just be kind to yourself.

  • Hello Starlady, thankyou so much for your reply. And for reaching out.

It has made me feel a bit better already knowing that there are others out there going through this too. And that I am not alone.

Just a bit of panic set in I think.
