Hi all, I have just joined this group and just finding my way around. I was diagnosed with kidney cancer in April and 9 weeks ago had my kidney removed. I am relieved to say that they managed to remove the cancer. It was at stage 3 but not spread. I will be undergoing immunotherapy next Monday which will hopefully decrease the chance of reoccurrence. I am a bit nervous as to how this will affect me but have great support from family and friends. It's been a real emotional rollercoaster but I remain positive.
I'm glad you've had lots of family support. I have very little from family but it tends to come in waves, and even then it's no more than 3 people. Mostly it's just 1.
I have looked up what Macmillan places are near me and I'm confused. It isn't clear where I could just walk in or where they have an office or something else. I don't think they have somewhere at my closest hospital but their website seems to show what looks like a shop front in the same town. I have no idea if that's somewhere I could just walk into or not.
I haven't had the nerve to call Macmillan on the phone yet. I'm not sure what I'd even say. I'd much rather sit down and chat though.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
