Kidney removal by open surgery not by keyhole ??

Hello I had an open nephrectomy for similar removal of kidney and tumours. I have a horizontal scar.  About 14 inches long which was glued Following surgery. It did open up and Local nurse changed dressing for me it took about 8 weeks to seal fully and for the swelling to go down. The following infections and internal muscle scarring is still a problem 2 years later.

give yourself time Inwrnt back to a non physocal

role after 12 weeks far too early and it had a detrimental affect on my recovery and mental health. I had to leave retire early eventually.

Take care it is major surgery especially open surgery

Hey , ive just had a radical and my tumour was 14 cm , actually had OP last week . You are obviously doing well and you had a large tumour . Did they grade your tumour at the time ? 

Hello no I had to wait 9 weeks post surgery before histology info with consultant

target is about 6 weeks I think for full histology report but here in Wales everything takes a bit longer and mine was just the end of lock down too
