Hi - I'm new here and just want to say hello. I was diagnosed with Kidney cancer 15 years ago in 2007 and underwent a radical nephrectomy.

Thre weeks ago I saw a Consultant Urologist who told me that the cancer has returned snd spread to my liver.

I am currently waiting for a liver biopsy to determine the type of cancer so that my consultant can plan a pathway.

Has anyone else been through something similar? I'd love to hear from you!

  • Hi there Wave and welcome, although we'd rather not meet here of course.  15 years off a nephrectomy is a good one I think Thumbsup  My RCC has spread to my lungs so we're at the same stage, but different organ.  I had a biopsy and then started immunotherapy in Jan.  Have you got a date for the biopsy yet?  It's the waiting that's the worst, first for the appt, then for it to happen and then for the results.  Then for treatment!  After that you get into the swing of things and can adjust.

  • Hi! Thank you so much for your reply; it's so helpful and encouraging to know someone else is going through a similar ordeal.

I have not yet had a date for my biopsy, after the request was sent to the wrong hospital department but now that had been rectified, I am hopeful that I'll hear very soon!

In the meantime I am trying to manage nausea, fatigue, and constipation! Ha! It's not too bad and my surgery are brilliant in helping me manage these symptoms.

I hope your treatment is progressing well for you. You're right; the waiting is the worst part.

Thanks again for getting in touch.
