Hi all
I am officially signed off from work today the first time in my working life where I have had to ask for a sick note , although I don’t feel Ill I know that the next week or 2 will be extremely challenging for me and my family but I am up for this challenge .
Are you having a nephrectomy? Even though my cancer was incurable on diagnosis after my nephrectomy I did get back to 12 hour shifts for some time until my mobility became an issue. Hopefully you will soon be back to work if that is what you want to do. Good luck going forward
Just remember to listen to your body and rest when tired etc which will probably not what you are used to doing but I think you actually recover quicker that way. Just my experience not a medical piece of information of course. When you are coming home from the hospital and for however long needed keep a pillow in the car to put between your body and the seat belt. Makes the journey home much more comfortable. Good luck with your surgery
I have had a message from the UC place local to me , they asked once they have assessed my claim and how long I will be off work for I will need to complete a Work Capability Assessment then they can asses me for PIP and adjust any payments accordingly and make a judgement if I able to go back to work ? Never liked being judged by anyone to be honest with you lol ! Omg how things have changed I have never signed on sick in my life despite working for 35 years so all strange to me ! Confused . Com most definitely
Good luck bud , scotlands different, we have adult disability payment , pretty straight forward , just asks if you are mobile and can prepare food and eat it yourself and not incontinent, , I've got a home visit next week, , I was looking forward to a wee jont out , but they come to see your home surroundings, good luck with PIP , I would love to go back to graft, but I've been told NO by every medical professional I've seen , mind you that was only the doctor and 2 nurses and a telephone conversation with my renal nurse specialist , not really missing cold and wet days on site , but the golf course is a different matter , hope everything goes well and keep your pecker up .
