  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

It sounds like you and your mum have been going through an awful lot since her diagnosis and it's natural that there are lots of things you don't understand.

Your mum's cancer is a different kind to the one I had so I can't help with your questions but I noticed that no one from the group had come forward yet. Replying to you will push your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll hopefully be seen by someone with the experience you need.

Another avenue to explore would be to speak to one of the nurses on the Macmillan Support Line. Whilst they don't have access to your mum's medical records they should be able to help you with any general questions you have about kidney cancer and treatment. It's free to call on 0808 808 0000 and they're available every day from 8am to 8pm.

While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
