Hi
My Mom was diagnosed on the 19th October that she has Kidney cancer. Yesterday she learned that the operation which has been mentioned to remove the kidney is not straight forward . She already has Parkinsons disease, how heartbreaking for her to now have this. But they say as she is 70, not in the best shape due to her Parkinsons (effects her legs alot) and well with previous back and knee issues she is just not in great shape. So they say 1 in 300 people die . She may need a blood transfusion as there is an artery that goes into the kidney and we are all floored. Mom has the choice ... do I die on the operating table or let it kill me in its own time ?!?! We are all stuck for words. I'm crushed. Moms crushed. We feel like we're lost in a foggy dark maze !!! What would her life look like if she did have the op ? She is still yet to speak to the anesthetist. Thanks for any advice x
