A LOT IS HAPPENING

Hello all,

Yes, I'm new (well, sort of). I have a new hospital now after my complaint about the previous one. No treatment yet, I'm still on a watching brief. It seems my prognosis has moved from 'one year' to 'very good'. Ha!

Still, despite my own unusual, powerful, method of minimising the cancer, it's still stressful going for scans then waiting for the result. Maybe......Well, who knows......?

Take care

Best Wishes

  • . Hi John. I have a different type of cancer to you but I can fully agree the endless waiting to get a test date, then a result, then appointments for consultations is the absolute pits. I've read many incidents of watchful surveillance, watching briefs - doesn't exactly help the patient to be able to relax and try and get back to a normal lifestyle but once we're on this roller-coaster life as we know it isn't normal.

I'm going to tag the Champ of this group to pop along and chat and no doubt the other members will alos be along.

I wish you well in your journey, hugs, B xx

  • Hi  n welcome to the kidney cancer group. Most of us on the site suffer from " scanxiety" while waiting for scan results, so you're not alone. I've been having them since I was first diagnosed in 2005, but I still get wound up after all this time. You wouldn't b human otherwise

I find I only get anxious once I've had the scans - I tend to forget about them in between times. Perhaps this comes with time, I dunno?

Good luck with whatever treatment you have. Do let us know how you get on won't you?

  • Just wanted to say Hello, and wish you all the best. Of course you get anxious. I don't know if you have supportive family and froends but it is a sad fact that those around us often do not respond in the way we woukd like.

  • Hi John , waiting for scan results is the worst feeling and one you never get used to . Hopefully you'll have a plan in place soon even if the is just watch and wait at least you'll know and hopefully be able to relax a little inbetween scans . I hope your new hospital give you more confidence and you definitely seem to have found your own way of coping . Good luck
