Hello. I am in pain and feeling angry and childish.
There were dreadful delays despite scan results being indicative , definitely showing a mass in Right kidney. 5 months when nothing was done and I was told all was fine. I was so happy.
The Scan results and the true picture was found by myself and a Rheumatogist at a totally unrelated appointment when we looked through old records, otherwise nothing would have been done at all. Have to feel for the Rheumy delivering that news! The neglect and the feeling of no value is the hardest part.
Can't say any more just now.
Have a good night all. xxxx
I wonder which bit of the South Coast you are on. We are in Christchurch, under Bournemouth University Hospital Dorset as it is now called!).
We, or rather my wife, was referred to the Anaemia Clinic following tests instigated by our GP following him feeling a mass in her left abdomen and her having 'funny turns' at the top of the stairs etc. He sent her for blood tests and fast-tracked her but anaemia showed up first so she went there. They, suspecting some sort of internal bleeding other than periods (she's too old for that!), gave her a CT scan and saw the mass on her left kidney. A Multidisciplinary Team meeting decided surgery was not appropriate as the tumour was an advanced incurable cancer and palliative chemo to try to extend her life the only answer.
A speedy answer can be just as devastating!
Take heart from the fact that there is still, possibly, a positive outcome.
That's our only hope! - But we are thinking of you.
Hi Yeldog! Thank you for your lovely chatty message. I am on the Isle of Wight...not a centre of excellence medically . Attending Southampton , was previously going there for orher conditions anyway.
In fact will be there tomorrow.
I am so sorry that things are as they are for you and your Wife. You are quite right a quick answer is just as devastating ...probably more so.
I have actually been quite angry and juvenile...but that is mainly as I was very traumatised by previous medical negligence and this has brought it all back. Irrational....hey and you should hear my language. I am running out of expletives.
I don't really know Christchurch well but I know Bournemouth a bit. Many years ago I went on a Riding holiday at Throop Valley. My Daughter used to travel to the Uni part time about 5 years ago. That was never easy from here and horrendously expensive. And we have had the odd trip taking the children as teens to various gigs.
Thank you so much for saying Hello and sharing some of your story. I am here any time.
xx Slightly less fed up person..Thanks!
