Hi, im back again, for those that remember me.

Im doing well and just playing the waiting game for scans post op.

I thought it might help others with mortgages and the worries they can bring when your dealing with cancer.

When i stopped working i got hold of the accident and illness insurace linked to my mortgage and they payed my mortgage payments which relieved some stress and meant i had 1 less thing to worry about but i also had critical illness cover, i was led to believe that i could claim 5000 as a help you out payment so i applied for it after i had my op and was told they need permission to look at medical records so i could prove i had cancer, i dont know if its normal but the insurance didnt pay me the 5000 i thought i would get but they actually paid off my mortgage and there was some money left over, it wasnt a big mortgage.

So if you have one and are going through cancer treatment it is worth checking your insurance to see if they can help you, its worth a try and could save you a lot of stress.

I hope this helps at least one person like its helped me.

Take care.

Glad that you are doing well after your operation. I hope that you do not have to wait too long for your post op scans.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your mortgage insurance. I am sure it will help others in a similar situation.

It is always difficult when there are financial worries during cancer treatment and if they can be sorted then it means people can focus on their recovery. If there is any one reading this who needs further advice I will pop a link below. Advice can also be given via the Support Line.
