Does anyone else think 4 1/2 weeks is acceptable to have results of my husbands latest scan.? I’m sure the anxiety and stress does not help coping with everyday problems.
He now has monthly phone call s from his oncology nurse but we feel we are being left to get on with it from his Oncologist.
After disastrous side effects of intital TKI medication he is now just about to have month 10 of Immunotherapy which is Nivolumab single dose of 40mg
My husband is not what you would call a talker when it comes to what is going on and feel I’ve gone as far as I can to push the issue but at the same time I will never give up pushing Speaking as a retired nurse I feel I know too much but I the ‘ Brick Wall ‘ comes to mind.
Hi Peggy6
Do you mean you've been waiting 4 1/2 weeks for results? Did you get them or still waiting? I would chase the radiography team if you can. I was told to allow up to 2 weeks by the oncology team but the radiography team say never more than a week. It must vary area to area though. I am in Scotland. Fingers crossed for good results for your husband. Best wishes
Hi Peggy6,
I am in West Sussex I had my call from my oncologist last Thursday for results of my three monthly scan, I had my scan three and a half weeks before and they did not have them I am under Brighton hospital, this has happened before they said they will chase up and call me in two weeks time with results, last time it was six weeks, they say that they are very busy and short staffed, I have found that having cancer seems to be a waiting games, waiting for scans, than waiting for results, just like a Merry go round, I hope your husband’s results are good take care.
Hi Peggy6. Any results yet? I've been reading posts today and the biggest worry seems to be this terrible waiting for results. We're all in the same boat. I'm bad at waiting for the next scan too - hold my breath for 12 weeks. I do hope the results are in and are better than expected - that would be the best news. Hang in there...
