Has anyone tried this or are on this? I am probably starting immunotherapy soon and would like to know about people's experience of it please.
Ipilimumab and nivolumab have been the ones mentioned that the oncologist wants to use.
Yes, I've been on this combo since August 22. Haven't had any of the possible side effects so far, and I now go for treatment once a month. It is having good results! The treatment procedure is straightforward, and you'll find the nurses in the treatment clinic are really supportive, caring and reassuring. At least, they are in my hospital! It does take time though, so take something to occupy yourself with!
Hi, I used to be on a different immuno combo, I started in May 2021, had probably most of the light side effects, nausea, loss of appetite, loss of weight, rashes, diarrhoea, swelling, hands and feet syndrome (huge painful wounds on hands and feet), and a very rare problem with myelitis.
The medication affects your whole body, not just the cancer cells, in the first few months it’s really good, no side effects, then later on people usually have some problems, but everyone goes through them differently, some people better than others.
My side effects are itchy skin, dry throat & blocked sinuses, the worst is adrenal insufficiency but I’m on daily tablets for that
