Hi,
I have a 5cm tumour in my kidney and have just started 2 weeks isolation prior to surgery to remove the kidney. My consultant and specialist nurse both say I should not have any pain from this sizend type of tumour. Despite this I have had increasingly strange pressure type pain ( a bit like when you’re pregnant and the baby’s foot gets stuck near your ribs) for which my GP has prescribed pai
killers. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I feel like a proper hypochondriac
Thank you
Judith
Hi and welcome to the Online Community. I have a different type of cancer to you and I've not had a baby but I do know that every different twinge sets the mind into overdrive. I think we all become hypochondriac's overnight.
I see you've joined our supportive Kidney cancer group so I've tagged the Community Champ and she'll be along to welcome you together with other members of the group.
Sending you welcoming hugs, Bx

Hi @judith57, welcome to the group.. I've not had this type of pain n my tumour was 9cm. Have you had a scan yet? That would help identify what was going on. ?
'm surprised your specialist n nurse haven't suggested it, unless they both reckon your having the kidney removed soon anyway. As Mrs BJH says, we all become hypochondriacs overnight with every little rwingr. Once you have a treatment plan, things will get better.
Hopefully, removal of your kidney will b the end of it. If not, kidney cancer is a slow grower, compared to other cancers n there are many treatments for it, with more bring developed cll the time
Do let us know when your op is n keep us up to date with how things are going

Hi Judith :) I know exactly what you mean! I’ve just found out that I have a 5x6cm lesion on my left kidney (had a CT scan the other day, now I’m waiting on contact from the multidisciplinary team) and I have that feeling of having a baby’s foot in between my ribs! Did the drs get to the bottom of it for you?
I know it’s been a while since you posted but your message really caught my eye. How are you getting on now? I hope you’re doing well
Hi Judith,
Ive just joined and am reading posts , firstly I hope for you that you have now had your surgery and slowly recovering well , although we don't know each other I wish you all the best. I'vr been experiecing a dull persitant pain to left side , a bit like after being punched although it doesn't go away , it was why I went for first dr appt. No idea re preganacy , usualy told by wife I have no idea what that is like!! Hypochrodriac?? I just think we need to be kind tp ourselves , whilst wanting to be positive I think this is going to be a rough journey.
Best wishes
Will
