Hi
Diagnosed with Classical Hodgkins 2 days ago aged 29. I have underlying health condition (Psoriatic Arthritis). Very anxious and unsettled few days. Awaiting PET scan next week however been told it will be just under 3 weeks before starting chemo as I have to wait for staging from PET and the week after next there is no treatment due to a bank holiday.
Naturally anxious as I am symptomatic and the lymphoma is at least stage 3 possibly 4. I am therefore eager to begin treatment and fearful to have to wait and further 3 weeks incase the lymphoma progresses further.
Many thanks
Christy
OK thanks.
My ct scan only show small amount of lymph nodes swelling in my abdomen. Small organ structures all looked normal according the the CT anyway. I know though there must be some lymphoma around the stomach for me to get pain
Hi
I found out I have stage 4a. The lymphoma is in my liver, spleen, neck, abdomen and bone.
I started ABVD so really hoping that stops the lymphoma in its tracks.
Christy
A clear diagnosis results in a specific treatment plan and you do need to commence treatment thinking that this will stop this in its tracks........ but 'if' there is a problem there are other tools that can be used.

Thanks Mike
Yes your right. They know exactly where it is now and can treat.
Started on ABVD. First treatment complete. All ok apart from really bad nausea. Hoping it lifts soon.

Christy
Christy, do consider linking in with the Lymphoma Online Support Groups as there is nothing better than 'talking ' with others.
As a way of some encouragement you may want to listen to this link Kicking on - Robbie Fergusson.
I also volunteer for Lymphoma Action. Back in Aug 2021 I did a Lymphoma Voices Interview with Robbie Fergusson who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma back in 2013 at the age of 20 and went on to have ABVD. Robbie goes on to talk about his diagnosis, treatment, recovery and eventually getting back to playing professional Rugby Union, playing for the Scotland 7s International Team and representing Team GB in the Rugby 7s Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
