Hi Everyone ,
My mouth and throat seem a lot dryer through these cold weather days , especially back of throat the side that had most treatment, does this weather affect anyone else like this ?
Happy new year to everyone xxx
Yes, I’m always worse in winter especially at night with heating on through the day. We have a PIV unit installed and that makes the air even drier.

I feel the cold so much more now
That does get better. I really felt the cold for the first year or so. I finished treatment in January and used to sleep with a fleece and hat on for the first few months

It will improve as time goes on no help now as I know
. Maybe wear a buff over your neck and mouth especially over next week when temperatures are really cooling down anything to alleviate the icy winds getting you for first year or so it was battle of the thermostat in our house
Plus you’re a tough yorkshire guy lol put an extra vest on
Happy new year

Hi Mark. I have exactly the same issue even though I live in Australia. My issue is in the hot summer months when my mouth really dries out. A bit like your issue with the central heating. It would seem the hot dry heat is the issue. I take water with me everywhere in the summer and am constantly using my Biotene mouth spray. It does help. Unfortunately for me the issue has not improved since my last radiotherapy in 2019. I have had 2 lots of radiotherapy my first one in 2013. Things did improve significantly after my first radiotherapy but the second one seems to have really done my salivary glands in. I live in hope that one day things will change but sadly after 6 years being realistic don't think that it will.
