Hi everyone,
Apart from many other sensations in my throat and tongue I have to get used to, I get a feeling my throat and tongue have cotton wool on them ? It's the only way I can describe it ,anyone else felt this? My ENT consultant says it's just swelling and inflammation, which I will have for a long time yet !
Thanks in advance Mark
Hi Mark,
Sorry to hear you've had that sensation. Just curious but is it a continuous feeling, or only every now and then? Does it show up at any particular times? After food, or first thing in the morning?
I'm sure other folks on the forum will be along with their input soon, but in the meantime don't forget you can speak to our qualified Cancer Information Nurse Specialists for tips on managing side-effects.
You can either contact them via the Macmillan Support Line on freephone 0808 808 00 00, or you can post your question to them over on the Ask a Nurse forum.
Hopefully you can find something to lessen the effect soon!

That and a lack of saliva. Keep you mouth as moist as you can. Chew gum?

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for reply ,this sensation I'm getting comes usually in the afternoon ,I was blaming it on my hayfever ,but not much pollen around now . I can't blame it on food as I try and keep away from spicy foods etc. and I get a different feeling after them also.
