Hi
I’ve just been told, by text, that this mouthwash is no longer available on prescription. They’ve suggested that I buy it over the counter. Just wondered if this was the same for everyone?
thanks, Lisa x
fluoride in it though
To get round that rinse in Biotene then take a tiny bit of Duraphat on the tip of your tongue and wipe round your mouth.

I’m a bit worried about having the parabens… or am I being overly cautious ?

You spit the mouthwash out so swallow very little.
Google parabens in food. It will surprise how much you ingest. Mouthwash I suspect is not much of a risk in comparison.

Cheers Dani will do that . Remember as dentist for fluoride varnish as well. I have 4 a year dentist dies it every. Is it so presume I do get a fair bit of fluoride over the year. It’s just annoying that it’s been taken away from us on what seems like a budgetary decision and not a clinical one seeing as Wales are still dispensing it.

Swings and roundabouts
In England, there are approximately 4.8 linear accelerators (linacs) per million population, while international recommendations suggest 7 or more linacs per million. Wales has a lower provision, with 3.7 linacs per million population, significantly below the average in England. This means that access to radiotherapy in the UK, particularly in Wales, is below international standards

I didn’t mean to begrudge you the bioxtra just wonder why they’ve decided to take it off in England. Hugs H x

No of course not...I didn't mean to imply that you did. Politics politics. They would rather spend money on the 20mph limit and trying to get every child speaking welsh than looking after their population's health

Hi, in case anyone else is interested - I went onto Oralieve’s website and asked for a sample of their mouth rinse. Macmillan Nurse suggested it was a good way to try things before spending £s on lots of products.
I filled in their contact form, then got an email and they’ve just confirmed that a sample is en route. They did say that it’s not available on prescription though. Also ordered Bioxtra via my pharmacy but it’s not clear whether it’s even available to buy.
