That's it. Still here. Still well
Hi Dani, congratulations it's brilliant you are now six years on. When I was diagnosed last February I didn't know if I was coming or going. Then when I joined the forum and you answered my questions and reassured me about the things that scared me I felt so much better and calmer. All of which you were right about. It's great to know you are a survivor and I look forward to posting when I am six years too. This type of cancer is brutal and nobody prepares you fully about what the next year will bring you. I'm now 7 months post RT and each month I see slight improvement. I know I'm early days yet and you reassured me about that too. Thank you for everything and hope you enjoyed your pizza and beer. Xxx

Hi Dani, congratulations! You really are such an inspiring soul. I regularly read your replies to everyone here sharing their stories. You give such sound advice and really help ease the understandable fears that we all have. I am so grateful to have found this forum. Having never heard of head and neck cancer prior to diagnosis, I felt completely lost in the woodland of isolation and fear. I then found my way here, so friendly and welcoming. So, thank you Dani and well done Xxx
That is such a sweet reply. Thank you so much.
How are you? You must be six months or so on?

You so deserve all the praise in the world! You shoot straight from the hip and tell it like it is..so many of us need that.
yes, I’m now six months clear and I’m pleased to say treatment was successful and I’m now in remission, woohoo! During my PET scan it was found that I had a polyp in my colon, which was successfully removed Christmas Eve.
My recovery from treatment has been ok thankfully. I am still under the dietitian as my eating hasn’t returned to normal and as a result I’m very underweight. I’m also seeing a lovely psychiatrist at my local McMillan support service to help with this issue.
My hair has just started to grow back, I lost a lot due to being given Carboplatin as my chemo regime and I’m now completely deaf in my left ear due to radiotherapy.
BUT having said all that, I’m just so eternally grateful to all the team at Guy’s and God that I’m here to tell the tale. And thankful to all of you for the invaluable advice and support given here. I’m here reading the many journeys everyday, and each and every one touches my heart, which goes out to each and everyone.
Thank you again Dani and bless you xxx
Congratulations Dani! This is wonderful news. Thank you for all the support you continue to provide to folks on this forum! I hope you have a great weekend! ~Tara
