On Monday I'm having my mask fitted, on Thursday 2 I'm having teeth out, 15th having my feeding tube fitted, just in time for 6weeks 5days a week of RT, I know it's going to be grueling but hopefully it does mean that I should be cancer free to start the new year, roll on 2025 Grinning

  • Hi loopyliz, it's good that you are having a feeding tube, they really help during and after treatment. Just take things one day at a time, you will get there. We're all here for you when you need us.

  • It’s all happening g and as you say the new year will see the back of it all. Hang in there

  • Hi Loopyliz

Looks like you're having the full Monty, good luck with everything, any questions just ask, nothing is off limits.

  • if you have time get a fluoride varnish on your teeth.. there might be days when you're just not up to keeping on top of oral hygiene.. your mouth will take a lot of punishment.. and remember, any issues don't hesitate to tell your team.

  • Thanks guys, as I say hopefully I should start my RT in 2 week-ish but for now I just have a flurry of appointments but definitely trying to see the positives, thanks for ur support x

  • Hi beau, how do I get a fluoride varnish please

  • Hi Loopyliz

Prior to starting treatment I indulged in my favourite foods, curries and chippy food, knew that my taste buds were going to take a hit.... thankfully I can now enjoy most food again... apart from the hot stuff, Madras, Chilli con carne etc

    Peter

  • I so miss the hot foods...  Almost any hot spice sets my throat off, no matter how little I have Cry

But many other foods are now OK and it gets better with each week that passes

  • I can now do a Chasni curry, some spicy soups,  going to try a Tikka Masala in the next couple of weeks, 16 months post treatment and taste is still slowly getting better.

  • Hi beau, how do I get a fluoride varnish please

    Your own hygienist

I have one every three months

It protects my teeth for the days my mouth gets sore from inappropriate food and I can't use Duraphat
