I had tongue and floor of mouth cancer surgery partial glossectomy radial forearm free flap tracheostomy neck dissection lymph nodes removed December 23 another tumour removed January 24 all radiotherapy ended may 24 had multiple checkups and pet CT scans I'm signed off my dietitian at hospital cause I am eating sufficient I am almost off all my morphine and back to just my regular tablets ( I have fibromyalgia and bipolar disorder) I have just got the mounjaro pen it was prescribed to me as I am overweight even though I lost 4 stone through cancer I still am 4 overweight. But I am quite scared to use it ATM. I just want some advice as to if this is going to affect me differently or more or if this is a bad idea with me missing my left lymph nodes or if it doesn't matter and I do still have late radiotherapy effects as it was quite brutal I was hospitalised for most of it. I'm very nervous to do this but I really need to shift this weight and nothing has worked so far.
I just want some advice
You need to ask your oncologist. Nobody here can advise you.
How are the late effects, How are you feeling and are you getting support from your GP?

I don't see the oncologist anymore, I see my head and neck consultant every 6-8weeks and I don't really see my GP at all I've been under the hospital for everything my GP doesn't do anything much. It's mainly fatigue and alot of nerve damage and it has exacerbated my fibromyalgia it is alot worse day to day since the radiotherapy, in all honesty I really wish I'd not had it I didn't really need it and now I'm scared I can't have it if I ever do need it. I have asked the hospital about counselling as I think I was a bit traumatised through my treatment but nothing was done. I'm scared if I start these jabs that it will worsen all of this
Ask your consultant. They are best placed. I agree that getting that counselling in place seems a good thing. Meanwhile, do you have a Maggie's near you. They offer much help, even on a drop in level. It's a good place to start.
This article about recovery may help too. It's not a substitute for counselling but may give you an insight into how you feel
