Just had a chat with the consultant and it's come back as stage 1 with no spread to nodes or elsewhere and hpv positive. She's offered me the Pathos trial at Derriford which is 2 hours from me in Cornwall so if I have to have more treatment then that will be a bit of a challenge. As it's stage 1 with no spread they are hoping to just do a laser tonsilectomy and neck disection to remove the lymphs that they would expect a cancer to spread to. Tissue samples then checked for margins and cancer and if all good then no more treatment just follow up scans as usual at Royal Cornwall which is closer to me.
Has anyone else had this level of treatment and been fine or has the cancer come back sooner and required further treatment.
The consultant is calling me back later this afternoon.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks everyone
Hi. There are a few members who have been in this trial. Use the search function I’ve ringed in the picture. You’ll find a few posts.

Hi there, The only lady I have dealt with so far is Dr Grobbelar ( ENT consultant). For the Pathos trial I will be referred to Dr Williams team over at Derriford but I believe the two teams work very closely together. I'm just waiting for the Derriford team to get in touch with me but they only put me forward for the trial yesterday so I imagine I will hear something next week. All my follow ups will be at Treliske though.
