Well here we are Friday 23 Feb 14:20 last treatment completed, 30 radio therapy treatments all done. To be fair it was a relief another journey mile stone achieved. Walking along the corridor away from the Radiotheapy ward I did get a little emotional and so did my Wife , who has been with me almost every treatment, its as much a milestone for her as for me and rightly so.
So sat at home now knowing we don't have to spend 3-4 hrs traveling each day and just planning recovery and solid food !!! Side effects did their usual thing, crappy saturday the usual accumulation of the weeks treatments. So hopefully now my mouth and tongue will begin to heal as to be fair I'm struggling on the tasty shakes , no appetite and it just plain hurts. Dieticians gave me some more ideas so trying them out over the weekend.
So come Monday its recovery road, nice and slow I'm thinking at bit at a time. Local lesuire centre does a cancer rehab so that's my aim for March to start that and get back some energy, start driving a bit more too, thankfully I can say life goes on.
Last but not least a massive thank you to all the staff at Peterborough City hospital Head and Neck unit where this started and to Addenbrooks Head and Neck Unit, Oncology and Radiography unit where it ended........for now check up in a few weeks.TBC

Congratulations on finishing treatment. It is great that you are already looking forward. The cancer rehab course sounds like a wonderful idea. It does take a while to get your energy levels back up but it does happen you just have to be patient. Exercise really helps, Thanks for your positive post.
