Hi everyone  my husband went for his 6 week check post radiotherapy yesterday, everything is looking as it should at this stage ,I feel like we have crossed the other side now and are well on the road to recovery,he's up and about walking the dogs ,shopping ,living a normal life ,all be it at a bit of a slower pace ,hang in there guys it does get better, there have been some very dark days as you all know but finally the sun is shining again ,thank you all especially radioactive raz and bees ,you have been my saviour on those very low days  xxx

  • Hi Kenco, I'm so happy to hear about how your husband is doing! We are 3 weeks behind you and I am starting to see glimmers of sunshine too in this very tough road that we've been on.

May your husband continue to improve and enjoy the rest of the summer.

  • Hi great news we all get there a different paces. Just remember it’s still early days there may be 2 step forward and one step back days but as we say it’s a marathon not a sprint. I found getting out and doing smaller walks really helped. Plus riding my bike. Great post for others who will follow to read.

  • Hi Kenco, that's good to hear, these checkups are very reassuring. Posts like this are really good for those who are about to have or having treatment, it's inspiring for them. All the best.

  • Hi Kenco am around the same stage, starting to eat slowly but still struggling with the saliva. How’s your partner doing with his eating?

Oh thank you. You have both been stronger than you thought You could be. We are a great community here and I’m so pleased you’ve found the time to come back and tell us how your husband is. It’s wonderful encouragement for people just starting out.

You’ll do it Turi. You are more resilient than you imagine. We find inner resources that we would think impossible in a normal life. A day at a time and slowly does it.
